Trimaran Demonstrator Vessel built by Vosper Thornycroft
The research vessel Triton is the worlds first large powered trimaran ship. It is a revolutionary vessel which has been described as "The most significant development in warship design since the Ironclads".
Insulating the hulls and structures of marine vessels and equipment used to be a time consuming and therefore expensive operation. Batts of fibreglass would be cut into the intricate shape of the profile and then pinned and glued into position, but would inevitably fall off.
In this instance "Monoglass" was sprayed onto the surface, easily moulding to the intricate surface profile, giving thermal and acoustic insulation, fast and therefore inexpensive installation, but to cap it all it doesn't fall off.
