3000 hrs x 0.03 / KW hr x 400 KW = £36,000 28.5 % reduction in fuel costs = £10,260
Bear in mind that the old boilers can be as low as 55% efficient, less if they have poor controls.

The boilers would be on a cascade system, fully modulate from 400 KW down to 19 KW increasing the savings.

As you can see we have made some assumptions, but you can put in your own figures and see what you get, just change your gas cost, boiler output and running times. Presuming energy costs will only get more expensive you can only make more savings!
